Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, presiding over a Cabinet meeting on Sunday, tasked the newly appointed Minister of Water Resources with preparing a bold new management plan for the vital water sector.
After congratulating the minister on assuming office, President Tebboune directed him to develop a comprehensive strategy ensuring long-term water security — a top priority within the President’s national program.
Tebboune also stressed the urgent need to modernize the sector’s early-warning system, making it fully capable of delivering rapid diagnostics and solutions during any emergency, meeting the high ambitions of Algerian citizens.
Additionally, following a briefing on restructuring the energy and renewable energies sector, President Tebboune ordered a feasibility study for establishing a dedicated State Secretariat for Renewable Energies within the sector’s new organizational framework.
The President also renewed his praise for the efforts of Sonelgaz workers and executives, reaffirming the state’s commitment to empowering Algeria’s energy workforce.
