The Executive Secretary of the Latin American and Caribbean Energy Organization (OLADE), Andrés Rebolledo Smitmans, has arrived in Algeria for a two-day working visit, at the invitation of Algeria’s Minister of State for Hydrocarbons, Mohamed Arkab.
The visit marks, as Arkab told dzwatch, “a new phase in strengthening the partnership between Algeria and OLADE, serving broader cooperation and mutual benefits.”
During his stay, the OLADE chief will hold meetings with senior Algerian officials and tour key energy installations across the country.
Algeria holds a uniquely distinguished status within OLADE, having joined as an observer member on July 9, 2001, before being granted permanent observer status in 2018 — making Algeria the only non-Latin American or Caribbean nation to hold this prestigious standing.
