According to the Qatari website “winwin”, reliable sources reported that the national team coach, Djamel Belmadi, has officially responded to the notice sent to him by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) on February 4th. Belmadi is said to have requested all his due payments and salaries for a period of 35 months (from February 2024 until the end of his contract in December 2026). He indicated that if his demands are not met, he would resort to the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

In a previous statement, the FAF announced the definitive end of Djamel Belmadi’s tenure as the national team coach and the commencement of procedures to select a new coach. The federation interpreted Belmadi’s departure from the country as a unilateral contract termination.

On February 5th, the FAF established a committee responsible for reviewing candidates to succeed Belmadi, with the committee expected to present its findings within a period not exceeding 10 days.

This development adds a new layer of complexity to the situation surrounding the Algerian national team’s coaching position. For more updates on this evolving story, visit dzwatch.net. Belmadi Responds to FAF’s Letter.
