Algeria and Chad Sign Landmark Cooperation Agreements Spanning Key Strategic Sectors

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and his Chadian counterpart, Mohamed Idriss Déby Itno, presided Wednesday evening over a landmark signing ceremony for a series of bilateral cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding covering multiple strategic sectors.

The signed accords encompass public works, telecommunications, youth affairs, animal health, pharmaceutical industry, air transport services, higher education and scientific research, as well as industry and trade.

Among the most significant agreements signed was a framework cooperation accord for the construction of a joint oil refinery, a mutual visa exemption agreement for holders of diplomatic and mission passports, and a government-to-government agreement establishing a framework for political and diplomatic consultations between the two neighboring nations.

The signing ceremony underscores Algeria’s growing role as a pivotal regional partner, deepening its strategic ties with Chad across economic, diplomatic, and developmental fronts.
