Algeria’s Saidal Signs Landmark Tech Transfer Deal with Indian Labs for Innovative Vaccine Production

Algeria took a major step forward in pharmaceutical sovereignty on Thursday, as public group Saidal signed a cooperation agreement with Indian research giant Oncosimis and tech firm Fabtak Technology in Algiers.

The signing ceremony, overseen by Minister of Pharmaceutical Industry Wassim Gouaidri, centers on a cutting-edge technology transfer enabling Saidal to master the local production of innovative probiotic vaccines — for both human and veterinary use — for the first time ever on Algerian soil.

The deal marks a defining milestone in Algeria’s drive toward medical self-sufficiency, reducing dependence on foreign pharmaceutical imports while positioning the country as a rising biotech hub on the African continent.
