Algeria Opens Major Export Showcase in Tindouf, Eyes West African Markets

Algeria inaugurated the Algerian Services and Export Products Exhibition in the southern province of Tindouf on Friday, under the banner “Tindouf: Gateway to West African Markets.”

Speaking exclusively to dzwatch, Director of Export Support Mechanisms Abdellatif El-Houari confirmed that 104 Algerian companies across production and services sectors, alongside 45 artisan enterprises, are showcasing export-ready products.

The event drew ambassadors from Burkina Faso, Niger, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Côte d’Ivoire, and Mauritania, plus diplomatic missions from Nigeria, Senegal, Ghana, and Guinea-Bissau — signaling growing appetite for economic partnership with Algeria.

Sectors on display include food industries, construction materials, manufacturing, renewable energy, and logistics. El-Houari emphasized this reflects Algeria’s firm political will to diversify exports beyond hydrocarbons and deepen its African economic footprint.

The Ministry Secretary-General also visited the Algerian-Mauritanian border crossing and the Free Trade Zone. The exhibition runs through April 27, with organizers aiming to make it an annual platform cementing Tindouf’s role as Algeria’s commercial gateway into Africa.
