Algeria’s Finance Minister Abdelkrim Bouzerzar held high-level discussions Thursday with UN Deputy Secretary-General and Chair of the UN Sustainable Development Group, Amina Mohammed, focusing on strengthening relations between Algeria and the UN development system.
The meeting took place on the sidelines of the UN Forum on Financing for Development, running April 20–24 in New York, where Bouzerzar is leading Algeria’s delegation.
Both sides reviewed Algeria’s accelerating efforts to advance sustainable development goals under the 2030 Agenda, both domestically and across regional and international platforms.
The Minister highlighted key financial sector initiatives driving Algeria’s development momentum, as well as joint projects between the Finance Ministry and UN agencies operating in Algeria.
Bouzerzar reaffirmed Algeria’s full readiness — particularly in its capacity as current Vice-President and incoming President of the UN Economic and Social Council — to implement the outcomes of the Seville Commitment adopted by heads of state last June.
