Algeria Moves to Secure Red Meat Supply Ahead of Eid al-Adha

Algeria’s Minister of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation, Amal Abdellatif, has chaired a high-level coordination meeting with members of the federation of red meat importers, attended by a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture — as part of a participatory sectoral approach aimed at ensuring adequate market supply ahead of Eid al-Adha.

The meeting, held under the banner of the General Union of Algerian Traders and Craftsmen, led by Issam Badrisi, brought together key operators active in the red meat import sector, who told dzwatch of their readiness to cooperate fully with government directives.

During the meeting, Minister Abdellatif listened to the concerns and proposals of importers, while discussions focused on measures to support their operations and streamline their market activities.

The meeting also addressed all issues related to supplying the national market with this widely consumed commodity, particularly as Eid al-Adha approaches. The ministry aims to coordinate efforts among all stakeholders to ensure price stability and product availability during this critical period.
