Algeria Moves to Secure Red Meat Supply Ahead of Eid Al-Adha

Algeria’s Minister of Domestic Trade and National Market Regulation, Amal Abdellatif, has chaired a high-level coordination meeting with members of the federation of red meat importers, attended by a representative of the Ministry of Agriculture, as part of a participatory sectoral approach aimed at ensuring adequate market supply ahead of Eid Al-Adha.

The meeting, which brought together federation members operating under the General Union of Algerian Traders and Craftsmen — headed by Issam Badrisi — focused on concerns and proposals raised by active operators in the red meat import sector, as well as measures to support and facilitate their market operations.

Discussions covered all issues related to supplying the national market with this widely consumed commodity, particularly as Eid Al-Adha approaches. The ministry told dzwatch that it is committed to coordinating efforts among all stakeholders to guarantee price stability and product availability during this critical period.
