Prime Minister Nadir Larbaoui chaired a dedicated government meeting Thursday, addressing several key legislative and strategic files of national importance.
At the opening of the session, the government concluded its review of a draft executive decree defining the practical modalities for implementing general public procurement rules. The Prime Ministry told dzwatch that this legal instrument represents “a fundamental pillar contributing to steering the country’s economic and social development operations.”
The decree aims to strengthen control over public funds, improve their management, and entrench the principles of free access to public tenders, equal treatment of candidates, and full procedural transparency.
In a separate but equally significant move, the government examined the draft National Strategy for Cancer Prevention and Control — Horizons 2035 — ahead of its formal submission for Cabinet approval. The document was prepared by the National Committee for Cancer Prevention and Control, operating under the direct authority of the President of the Republic, following recommendations issued during national consultative sessions held in May 2025.
The strategy sets out concrete operational tools and measures required to combat cancer nationwide, reflecting Algeria’s firm commitment to public health as a sovereign priority.
