The Egyptian film ‘Aisha Who Cannot Fly Far’, directed by Murad Mustafa, claimed the Grand Prize in the feature-length narrative category at the 6th Annaba Mediterranean Film Festival, in a spectacular closing ceremony held at the Ezzeddine Majoubi Regional Theatre.
Algerian director Yassine Bouaziz’s film ‘Boubia’ swept the Lion’s Share of awards, winning the Jury Prize, the Audience Award, and the newly introduced Press Award in its inaugural edition.
Tunisian actor Helmi Dridi was named Best Actor for his role in Round 13, while Algerian actress Lydia Chabout took home Best Actress for her performance in Khait Errouh. The Best Direction award went to the film ‘Palestine 36’.
The closing ceremony also honored veteran freedom fighter Louiza Ighil Ahriz and French historian Benjamin Stora for their outstanding contributions to history and memory.
