Algeria Dismisses Officials at Tlemcen Vocational Training Institute Over Serious Misconduct

Algeria’s Ministry of Vocational Training and Education has announced the dismissal of senior officials at the National Specialized Institute for Vocational Training in Traditional Crafts, Hotel and Tourism Trades — known as “Imama” — located in the wilaya of Tlemcen, following the recording of serious and unprofessional violations incompatible with applicable laws and regulations.

In an official statement, the ministry said that Minister Nassima Arhab had ordered immediate measures, including the termination of duties of the official in charge of managing the provincial directorate, the termination of duties of the director of the “Imama” institute, and the removal of all responsible staff members. Those implicated have been referred to the disciplinary council for appropriate action in accordance with the law, in order to protect the public interest and reinforce the values of responsibility and accountability.

The ministry stressed that this decision reflects the sector’s firm commitment to rigorous enforcement of the law, the preservation of the credibility of vocational training institutions, and the guarantee of an educational environment built on integrity, discipline, and respect for regulations.

The minister did not disclose further details regarding the nature of the violations that led to these disciplinary measures.
