Algeria and Angola Sign Major Cooperation Agreements Across Key Sectors

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune chaired a landmark signing ceremony alongside his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, as Algeria and Angola formalized a sweeping series of cooperation agreements and memoranda of understanding spanning multiple strategic sectors.

A memorandum of understanding was signed between Algeria’s investment promotion agency and its Angolan counterpart, covering investment development and export promotion. Both governments also signed a protocol on vocational training and a cooperation agreement in water resources management.

Further agreements covered postal services, wired and wireless telecommunications, and information and communication technology. Additional protocols were signed between the two countries’ agriculture and rural development ministries, as well as in the field of veterinary health.

The two nations also formalized cooperation agreements in higher education, science, technology and innovation, pharmaceutical industry, air transport services, mining, and crucially, in the petroleum and gas sector.

The signing ceremony underscores Algeria’s growing diplomatic and economic outreach across Africa, reinforcing its role as a key continental partner committed to South-South cooperation and mutual development.
