Algeria and Angola Strengthen Ties: Presidents Tebboune and Lourenço Hold High-Level Talks in Algiers

President Abdelmadjid Tebboune held extensive bilateral talks on Monday with his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, in a state visit that underscored the deepening strategic partnership between Algeria and Angola.

The Algerian president received President Lourenço with full honors at the Presidential Palace, where a formal welcome ceremony was held, including a military guard of honor and a 21-gun salute in tribute to Algeria’s distinguished guest.

Both heads of state attended the playing of their respective national anthems before reviewing joint military formations, marking the occasion with the solemnity it deserves.

President Tebboune and his Angolan counterpart then held one-on-one talks before chairing expanded sessions involving the full delegations of both nations, covering key areas of mutual cooperation.

The two leaders also posed for an official commemorative photograph before members of the national and international press, reflecting the significance of this diplomatic milestone.

The visit signals Algeria’s continued commitment to strengthening South-South cooperation and consolidating its leading role on the African continent.
