Algeria’s Directorate of Taxes has launched a major open-door initiative under the slogan “Understand Exceptional Tax Measures and Enroll”, drawing strong participation from individuals, traders, and professionals eager to regularize their tax situations.
The initiative, held across the central Algiers and Algiers-West regional directorates, aims to guide taxpayers through simplified procedures for voluntary tax settlement and debt cancellation under Article 122 of the 2026 Finance Law.
Officials told dzwatch exclusively that the program targets the reintegration of undeclared funds into the formal economy, encouraging citizens to comply voluntarily and benefit from exceptional debt relief measures across two distinct eligibility periods.
The campaign falls within Algeria’s broader economic strategy to modernize its tax administration, improve public service quality, and expand the formal financial base — reinforcing the government’s commitment to transparent and inclusive fiscal governance.
