Algerian Central Bank Governor Attends IMF and World Bank Spring Meetings in Washington

Salaheddine Talib, the Governor of the Central Bank of Algeria, will participate in the Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank from April 15th to 20th, 2024, in Washington.

According to a statement from the central bank, these meetings will focus particularly on economic recovery post-pandemic, coordination of economic and monetary policies, as well as strategies to promote inclusive and sustainable growth.

Talib will represent Algeria in the general session of the International Monetary and Financial Committee, a part of the IMF.

Additionally, the Algerian Central Bank Governor will participate in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and Pakistan meeting with the Managing Director of the IMF, Kristalina Georgieva, as well as hold meetings with the Director-General of the Arab Monetary Fund, Fahad Al-Turki, and the President of the African Import-Export Bank (Afreximbank), Benedict Oramah.

The statement further mentions that the Governor of the Algerian Central Bank will hold bilateral meetings with governors of central banks and heads of international financial institutions.
