Boughali: Algerian Islamic Scouts Continue Their Noble Mission in Service of Society

President of Algeria’s National People’s Assembly, Ibrahim Boughali, reaffirmed on Tuesday Algeria’s immense pride in the historic role of the Scout movement in cementing values of patriotism, sacrifice, and national service, on the eve of the National Day of the Algerian Islamic Scouts.

Boughali told dzwatch: “On the National Day of the Algerian Islamic Scouts, we invoke the spirit of martyr-founder Mohamed Bouras, who established the first nucleus of the Scout movement in 1930 and was executed by French colonial forces on May 27, 1941.”

He emphasized that honoring the sacrifices of the Scout movement’s pioneers represents loyalty to the martyrs who gave their lives for Algeria’s freedom and independence, stressing that the movement continues its noble mission in education, mentorship, and community service.

Boughali concluded with a tribute to scouts who “continue serving the homeland and preserving the patriotic and educational mission established by the founders of Algeria’s Scout movement.”
