General d'Armée Saïd Chanegriha, Chief of Staff of the Algerian National People's Army (ANP), has affirmed the army's readiness to contribute to the success of the upcoming legislative elections. He highlighted that the successful organization of these elections marks a significant step in the ongoing political reform of the state, building upon the revised Constitution of November 1, 2020, and consolidating Algeria's democratic and institutional framework. To guarantee a serene and tranquil electoral environment, all levels of command within the ANP are tasked with implementing the necessary security and operational measures.

General Chanegriha also discussed the ANP's ongoing adaptation of its defense systems in response to the evolving international landscape. He emphasized the critical nature of this adaptation for building a strong army capable of meeting contemporary challenges. The current geopolitical context, marked by shifting global balances, requires nations to continuously enhance their geostrategic and systemic capabilities, bolster popular and economic resilience, and advance their defense, scientific, and technological capacities.

The ANP is committed to modernizing its defense systems across all dimensions, including the development of technological capabilities, rigorous training of personnel, and the localization of the defense industry. Concurrently, the army plays a vital role in fostering societal resilience against disinformation and cognitive manipulation, working with national media to counter hostile propaganda and psychological warfare. This effort aims to shape a unifying national narrative that serves the state's vital interests.

Recognizing the potential misuse of advanced technology for espionage and subversion, particularly targeting sensitive government computer systems, the ANP remains vigilant against attempts to create crises and undermine public trust. The army continues to fulfill its missions with unwavering determination, combatting terrorism, organized crime, and cross-border smuggling—threats that undermine Algeria's social cohesion and economic development.

Echoing President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's sentiments, General Chanegriha reiterated the commitment to enabling Algeria to reclaim its rightful place regionally and internationally. The President has lauded the ANP as a peaceful but fiercely protective force, emphasizing the need for national unity and cohesion between the army and the people to face future challenges.

Algeria's strategic focus on self-reliance and its robust security measures, particularly in a region plagued by terrorism and instability, have positioned it as a key player in regional security. The ANP's constant vigilance along its extensive borders is crucial for protecting national security and territorial integrity amid complex regional conditions.

In his address, General Chanegriha also underscored the importance of adapting to modern warfare, which demands both advanced materiel and highly qualified human resources. The rapid evolution of conflict necessitates continuous adaptation in strategy, planning, and combat effectiveness. He stressed that modern armaments are only effective when wielded by skilled personnel capable of fully exploiting their technical and technological potential. The ANP prioritizes the continuous development of these interdependent components, ensuring military personnel receive specialized training and encourage officers to deepen their knowledge through reading and practical experience.

He urged cadres at the War College to foster a spirit of continuous learning among trainee officers, emphasizing that real-world professional experience is paramount for developing the intelligence and insight needed to effectively handle advanced equipment and adapt to evolving situations.
