Algeria and the Democratic Republic of Congo have formalized a comprehensive cooperation agreement in the hydrocarbons sector, signaling a significant step towards strengthening bilateral relations across the entire value chain. This accord aims to deepen the energy partnership between the two nations, opening new avenues for collaboration and mutual development.

The agreement was signed at the Ministry of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies in Algiers. Representing Algeria was Mohamed Arkab, the Minister of State, Minister of Energy, Mines, and Renewable Energies. The Democratic Republic of Congo was represented by its Minister of Hydrocarbons, Acasia Bandupola Mpongo. The signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Democratic Republic of Congo to Algeria, the CEO of Sonatrach, Nourredine Daoudi, the President of the National Agency for the Valorization of Hydrocarbon Resources (ALNAFT), Samir Bakhti, and the President of the Hydrocarbons Regulatory Authority, Amine Remini, alongside other key officials and experts from both countries' energy sectors.
