First Algerian Hajj Contingent Returns Home Successfully

The first contingent of Algerian pilgrims has successfully returned to national soil after completing their Hajj rituals for the year 1447 AH / 2026 CE. The pilgrims arrived at Houari Boumediene International Airport, where dedicated personnel ensured all necessary facilities were in place to guarantee their comfort and provide a warm reception.

The group, comprising 399 pilgrims, was met with a special welcome from their families and representatives from various sectors involved in organizing the Hajj pilgrimage. This underscores the national importance placed on the journey and the well-being of its citizens undertaking this sacred duty.

Mohammed Zegdani, the Deputy Director of Information at the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments, lauded the "meticulous organizational conditions and constant support provided to pilgrims in the Holy Sites by the Algerian Hajj mission." He emphasized that the operation "concluded successfully under the supervision of the Minister of Religious Affairs and Endowments, Youcef Belmehdi, head of the Algerian Pilgrims' Office."

Zegdani further noted that the return flights for Algerian pilgrims will continue until June 23rd, utilizing 12 airports across the nation, with a total of 41,300 pilgrims expected to return. Many pilgrims themselves expressed their appreciation for the "good conditions" facilitated by the Algerian state throughout their stay in the Holy Sites, enabling them to perform their religious obligations seamlessly. The welcoming committee at the airport also included Redouane Maach, the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Endowments.
