Niger Praises Algeria’s Firm Stance on Security

Niger has officially commended Algeria for its firm stance and military support, specifically recognizing the deployment of fighter jets to protect its security and sovereignty. Nigerien Prime Minister Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine conveyed his country's profound gratitude and appreciation to Algeria for this initiative, acting on behalf of President Abdourahamane Tiani. The military assistance, which included two patrols of fighter jets, was dispatched following directives from Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and in response to an official request from Nigerien authorities.

Prime Minister Zeine, speaking in Niamey, affirmed that he was personally tasked by President Tiani to oversee the reception of the fighter jets. He underscored Algeria's commitment, stating that it considers all necessary actions to assist in ensuring Niger's security and enhancing its sovereignty as an absolute priority. This support aims to confront attempts to destabilize the nation, reinforcing the strategic depth and fraternal ties between the two countries.

These developments follow a working visit by Prime Minister Zeine to Algeria just three days prior, during which a comprehensive assessment of bilateral cooperation and joint projects was conducted. Niger looks to Algeria's experience for the exploitation of its natural resources and to drive development initiatives. Prime Minister Zeine also highlighted Niger's satisfaction with its alliance with Algeria, describing it as a trustworthy neighbor, friend, and brother, and affirmed the intention to continue this collaborative approach for the security and prosperity of both peoples.
