Algerian diplomacy took center stage in Seoul recently as Minister of State, Minister of Foreign Affairs, National Community Abroad, and African Affairs, Ahmed Attaf, conducted a series of pivotal bilateral discussions with his counterparts on the sidelines of the African-Korean Partnership Ministerial Meeting.

Minister Attaf held productive talks with Her Excellency Ms. Bianca Odomigwu Ojukwu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. During their meeting, Minister Attaf reiterated his congratulations to his Nigerian counterpart on her recent appointment. The discussions notably focused on exploring avenues to consolidate the already distinguished relations between the two fraternal nations. Furthermore, the ministers delved into the evolving situation in the Saharo-Sahelian region and strategized on joint contributions to bolster peace and development in the area, particularly through advancing structural integration projects.
In a separate engagement, Minister Attaf also met with His Excellency Mr. Badr Abdel Aty, the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Africa and Head of the African Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Egypt. Their talks centered on collaborative efforts aimed at strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and partnership between Algeria and Egypt, with a particular emphasis on economic cooperation. The two ministers also addressed the current state of affairs in the Arab region and discussed key issues pertinent to the agenda of the African Union, especially in anticipation of the upcoming continental events scheduled to be hosted by Egypt later this month.
