Constantine Welcomes First Group of Returning Hajj Pilgrims for 2026 Season

The first group of 366 pilgrims from six eastern provinces of Algeria has successfully returned to Constantine's Mohamed Boudiaf International Airport from the holy sites after completing the Hajj rituals for the 1447 Hijri season. The homecoming was met with excellent organization and the presence of local authorities, including a dedicated pathway for elderly pilgrims and those with special needs, along with a designated area for their escorts.

Algerian pilgrims return from Hajj

Officials from the directorates of religious affairs and health have ensured all necessary measures are in place for the remaining 5,183 pilgrims from the provinces of Constantine, Mila, Sétif, Oum El Bouaghi, Jijel, and Skikda. Lakhdar Boulahlib, head of religious guidance and endowments at the directorate of religious affairs and endowments, confirmed to APS that comprehensive care is being provided.

Seventeen flights are scheduled to transport pilgrims back to Constantine International Airport from the holy sites, with the final arrivals expected by June 21st.
