The meeting followed a major milestone in bilateral energy cooperation: the official inauguration of a new 40-megawatt power generation plant in Niger. Undertaken at the direction of President Tebboune, the power plant was jointly inaugurated by the Algerian Prime Minister and his Nigerien counterpart, Ali Mahamane Lamine Zeine.

Speaking after his audience with President Tchiani, the Algerian Prime Minister underscored that the project was completed in record time, reflecting a new era of shared political commitment at the highest levels. This positive momentum is a direct outcome of the historic visit made by President Tchiani to Algiers in February, followed by the successful convening of the Great Algerian-Nigerien Joint Committee in March.

For his part, President Abdourahamane Tchiani expressed his deep appreciation and sincere gratitude to President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, praising Algeria's steadfast solidarity and support. He lauded the rapid completion of the electricity plant, describing it as the first of many fruitful results stemming from the strong, development-focused partnership between Algeria and Niger. Tchiani reaffirmed Niger’s determination to continue working hand-in-hand with Algeria to elevate bilateral relations to even higher levels.
