Algeria Braces for Thunderstorms and Strong Winds Across Multiple Provinces

Algeria's meteorological services have issued a weather alert predicting significant rainfall and strong winds across numerous provinces on Tuesday. Residents are advised to prepare for potentially heavy thunderstorms, particularly in the afternoon and continuing into the early hours of Wednesday.

The alert highlights considerable downpours expected to begin around 3:00 PM local time today and persist until dawn tomorrow. The affected provinces include Tlemcen, Ain Temouchent, Oran, Mostaganem, Sidi Bel Abbès, Mascara, Relizane, Naâma, El Bayadh, Tiaret, Saïda, Tissemsilt, Laghouat, Djelfa, M'Sila, Ouled Djellal, Oum El Bouaghi, Souk Ahras, Tébessa, Khenchela, and Tamanrasset.

A separate warning indicates strong winds and intense sandstorms will impact the provinces of Béchar, Beni Abbès, and Tindouf starting from midday today until 7:00 PM. Authorities are urging caution in these areas due to the expected adverse weather conditions.
