President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has called on the UN Security Council to reconsider the membership of the State of Palestine.

In his speech at the opening of the 33rd Arab Summit in Manama, Bahrain, delivered by Minister of Foreign Affairs and National Community Abroad, Ahmed Attaf, President Tebboune emphasized the missed opportunities by the Security Council and the international community to do justice to the Palestinian people and uphold their rights.

President Tebboune welcomed the increasing momentum of official recognitions of the State of Palestine and the growing support for its full membership in the United Nations.

He stated, “The historic resolution adopted by our UN General Assembly a few days ago embodies a historical truth, a reality finally acknowledged by the entire international community.”

The core of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict, according to President Tebboune, lies in undermining the Palestinian national project. He stressed that resolving this conflict can only be achieved through the realization of this project and the prompt establishment of the Palestinian state.
