Director General of National Security Meets Head of New York Drug Enforcement Administration

Ali Badaoui, the Director General of National Security, met with the Head of the New York Drug Enforcement Administration.

The two parties discussed bilateral cooperation in addressing challenges related to combating various types of drug trafficking, according to a statement by the Directorate General of National Security on Thursday.

The statement detailed that, as part of his working visit to the United States, the Director General of National Security and his accompanying delegation met with the Head of the New York Drug Enforcement Administration. They reviewed ways to collaborate with the specialized departments of the Directorate General of National Security to address challenges related to combating all types of drugs, including synthetic drugs and cannabis resin.

During the visit, the delegation toured the various sections of the scientific drug analysis laboratory of the same administration, where they received detailed explanations from experts in the field about the equipment and methods used for chemical drug analysis.

The delegation also visited the New York Police Department headquarters, where experiences and views were exchanged on security challenges faced by police in both countries, particularly in urban security, public safety, subway transportation, and securing major events.

In the same context, the Algerian delegation visited the US-Canada border police services. Meetings with officials at the border crossings allowed the delegation to observe the methods and technologies used to monitor the movement of people, vehicles, and goods across the border, as well as the modern mechanisms for information exchange to ensure border security.
