Towards Producing 60,000 Algerian Fiat Cars Annually

The second automatic production line at the Fiat car factory in Oran is expected to open by the end of next June, allowing production capacity to increase to 60,000 cars annually.

During the first ordinary session of the Provincial People’s Assembly, Oran’s Governor, Saïd Saayoud, stated that this factory, located in the Tafraoui industrial zone, is making further investments that will gradually increase production in the coming years.

During this session, the governor presented various achievements of Oran province in recent years, covering housing, urban projects, health, education, water resources, postal services, telecommunications, transportation, fishing, energy, and agriculture.

He also highlighted a successful pilot project in legume cultivation, with 400 hectares planted in the province.

Additionally, the governor mentioned that a budget of over 100 million DZD has been allocated for the development of Lake Dayet Mersli, noting that this project will significantly enhance the area’s aesthetic appeal.

Furthermore, the governor reviewed several key projects recently undertaken in the province, including the desalination plant at Cap Blanc, which is set to be completed by the end of this year, and the bypass road linking Oran port to the highway, expected to be completed by the end of June.

Five new hospitals have also been received in Qadial, Negma (Sidi El Chami), El Karma, Oued Tlelat, and a burns hospital, among other projects.
