The battle to secure the services of Algerian international Anis Hadj Moussa is reportedly intensifying during the current summer transfer window, with English Premier League club Aston Villa emerging among the teams interested in the Feyenoord winger.
Reports suggest that the Birmingham-based club has explored the possibility of signing the 24-year-old attacker, whose performances in the Netherlands have attracted attention from several European and Saudi clubs. Aston Villa’s interest remains part of ongoing transfer speculation, as no official agreement has yet been announced by either club.
Hadj Moussa strengthened his reputation during an impressive 2025–2026 season with Feyenoord. The Algerian scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 30 Eredivisie matches, making it the most productive league campaign of his career. He was also named the Eredivisie Player of the Month for May after playing a decisive role in Feyenoord’s strong finish to the season.
His pace, close control and ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations have made him one of Algeria’s most promising attacking talents. His growing influence also comes at an important moment for the national team, where he is widely viewed as one of the players capable of taking greater responsibility on the right wing.
Aston Villa, however, may face strong competition. Al-Ahli of Saudi Arabia has also been linked with the Algerian international, while other reports have mentioned interest from Newcastle United and several European clubs. Transfer-rumour listings currently include both Aston Villa and Al-Ahli among the teams monitoring his situation.
Al-Ahli’s interest has gained further attention following the confirmed departure of Algerian star Riyad Mahrez after three seasons with the Saudi club. This has created a vacant position on the right side of the attack and strengthened speculation that Hadj Moussa could be considered as a potential successor.
The growing demand for Hadj Moussa reflects the continued rise of Algerian footballers in major international competitions. Whether he remains with Feyenoord, moves to England or joins another ambitious project, his development represents an encouraging sign for Algeria.
For now, the player remains under contract with Feyenoord, and any possible transfer will depend on negotiations between the clubs, the financial terms and Hadj Moussa’s sporting priorities.
