FLN Leader: Election Victory Reflects Renewed Public Trust and a New National Responsibility
The Secretary-General of the National Liberation Front, Abdelkrim Benmbarek, said that the party’s first-place finish in the July 2 legislative elections, with 91 seats in the People’s National Assembly, was a source of pride but, above all, a new national responsibility.
Speaking during a press conference held on Monday at the party’s headquarters, Benmbarek stated that the FLN’s electoral success represented a renewal of citizens’ confidence in the party, its national project, and its ability to continue playing its historic and political role in serving Algeria, its people, and its constitutional institutions.
He added that the result also sent a clear democratic response to those who had expected the FLN to decline or attempted to question its national standing.
“The ballot boxes delivered their verdict freely,” Benmbarek said. “The Algerian people have shown that legitimacy is not granted by campaigns of doubt or by voices seeking to spread frustration. It is granted by citizens through their free vote, within the framework of the law and state institutions.”
The FLN Secretary-General stressed that Algeria was the greatest winner in these elections. He said the electoral process strengthened institutions, respected the will of the people, and demonstrated the success of democracy in the face of attempts to cast doubt on the country’s political process.
According to Benmbarek, the Algerian state also succeeded in organizing elections that were secure, transparent, and conducted under fair conditions.
He further renewed the National Liberation Front’s commitment to supporting the programme of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune. The party, he said, will continue working responsibly to provide the political and legislative backing required to ensure the success of major national reforms.
Benmbarek concluded that the FLN would remain committed to strengthening Algeria’s stability, protecting its institutions, and serving the country’s highest national interests.
