The President of the Independent National Electoral Authority, Mohamed Charfi, stated on Sunday that Algeria has made significant strides in creating the necessary organizational conditions to realize democratic construction and reinforce the principle of power transition.
During his visit to review the organizational preparations for the presidential elections in Annaba, Charfi emphasized that establishing organizational conditions that meet international standards for the electoral process is an additional guarantee of election integrity and a benchmark for its credibility.
He highlighted that the local delegations of the electoral authority represent the “fundamental link in building an electoral administration that operates according to international standards and laws ensuring the credibility and integrity of the elections.”
In this context, Charfi reiterated that preparing the conditions for fair elections and ensuring the free choice of citizens in the upcoming elections is a clear commitment from the highest authority in the country.
Charfi underscored what he described as the “pivotal role” of citizens in imparting real value to the upcoming elections through their wide participation in the anticipated presidential elections.
Additionally, the President of the Electoral Authority urged young people to register on the electoral lists, stressing that “elections remain the legitimate means for governance and power transition, and the citizen’s vote is the essential link in affirming this legitimacy.”
