President Tebboune Praises Heroic Efforts of Civil Protection Teams in Fighting Wildfires

President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune has paid tribute to the women and men of Algeria’s Civil Protection for their heroic efforts to extinguish wildfires affecting several regions across the country.

In a message issued on Wednesday evening, President Tebboune praised Civil Protection personnel for their courage, dedication and continuous mobilization in confronting the fires that have broken out in different parts of Algeria.

The President’s message comes amid extensive operations involving emergency teams working under difficult conditions to contain the flames, protect residents and prevent fires from spreading toward populated areas.

Civil Protection units have been at the forefront of the national response, mobilizing personnel and equipment to combat the fires and support affected communities. Their efforts have been reinforced through coordination with local authorities and other state services involved in emergency operations.

The recent fires have required significant mobilization, particularly in areas where flames threatened residential communities and public facilities.

In Annaba Province, Interior Minister Saïd Sayoud traveled to Seraïdi on President Tebboune’s instructions to supervise firefighting operations and monitor assistance provided to affected residents. The minister was accompanied by a government delegation and Civil Protection Director General Colonel Boualem Boughelaf.

Authorities said the vigilance and rapid intervention of local services helped prevent a potentially serious disaster in Seraïdi, where a major forest fire approached inhabited areas.

President Tebboune’s praise highlights the important role played by Civil Protection personnel in safeguarding lives, homes and the country’s natural resources during the wildfire emergency.

The Algerian authorities have maintained a high level of mobilization as firefighting operations continue in affected regions.
