On President Tebboune’s Instructions, Sayoud Visits Tlemcen to Offer Condolences to Wildfire Victim’s Family
Algerian Minister of the Interior, Local Authorities and Transport Saïd Sayoud arrived in Tlemcen Province on Thursday, July 23, on the instructions of President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune, to offer condolences to the family of a victim of the forest fires that affected the district of Ouled Mimoun.
Sayoud was accompanied by a ministerial delegation during the visit, which was aimed at expressing the solidarity and support of the Algerian state with the bereaved family following the tragic loss.
According to the Algerian Press Service, the minister conveyed condolences and sympathy to the victim’s relatives and stood alongside the family during what authorities described as a painful ordeal.
The visit comes as Algeria continues to confront forest fires that have affected several areas of the country amid exceptionally challenging weather conditions.
President Tebboune has closely followed the situation and the operations undertaken by Civil Protection personnel, local authorities and other state institutions mobilized to protect citizens and bring the fires under control.
The Algerian authorities have repeatedly emphasized that protecting human life remains the highest priority throughout the emergency response. Considerable human and material resources have been mobilized to fight the fires, protect populated areas and assist affected families.
The government has also reaffirmed its commitment to supporting citizens impacted by the wildfires and assessing the damage caused by the blazes.
Sayoud’s visit to Tlemcen reflects the state’s determination to remain close to families affected by the fires and to provide them with the necessary support during difficult circumstances.
The official APS report, published on Thursday at 12:39 p.m., confirmed that the Interior Minister traveled to Tlemcen specifically on President Tebboune’s instructions to offer condolences to the family of the wildfire victim in Ouled Mimoun and stand beside them following their loss.
