Algeria Strengthens Coordination to Improve Economic Land Management and Support Investment

The Director General of the Algerian Investment Promotion Agency (AAPI), Omar Rekkache, chaired a coordination meeting on Sunday with officials from the three national agencies responsible for the development and management of economic land.
According to an official statement, the meeting brought together representatives from the National Industrial Land Agency, the National Tourism Land Agency, and the National Urban Land Agency. It forms part of ongoing efforts to implement AAPI’s roadmap aimed at improving investor support systems and enhancing the overall investment environment.
Discussions focused on strengthening coordination between the different institutions and harmonizing working methods to improve the management of economic land. The objective is to ensure the availability of land offers that meet investors’ needs and accelerate the implementation of investment projects.
Participants also explored ways to enhance governance in the management of economic land, particularly by ensuring continuous updates of land-related data. This would enable the provision of accurate, reliable, and real-time information through the digital investor platform, thereby improving transparency and the quality of services offered.
The meeting emphasized the importance of verifying the actual readiness of land plots before including them in investment offers, along with reinforcing field-level coordination to ensure that published data accurately reflects on-the-ground realities.
Additionally, participants stressed the need to develop efficient information-sharing mechanisms through a unified digital platform linking all relevant agencies. This system would allow continuous data updates and contribute to building a comprehensive and up-to-date national land portfolio.
The discussions also addressed how to better align land allocation with national development priorities and sectoral needs, ensuring optimal use of available land and directing it toward high-value investment projects capable of generating wealth and employment.
At the conclusion of the meeting, all parties agreed to continue close coordination by establishing permanent mechanisms for data exchange, updating the national land database, and improving land readiness. These efforts aim to support Algeria’s growing investment momentum, simplify access to economic land, and accelerate project realization.
