El Djeich Magazine Highlights National Unity and Algeria’s Commitment to Sovereignty

The August 2026 editorial of Algeria’s El Djeich magazine stressed that protecting and defending the country is a noble and sacred responsibility shared by all Algerians, highlighting the national solidarity demonstrated during the recent forest fires.
The editorial praised the combined efforts of the People’s National Army, Civil Protection, forestry services, other state institutions, and citizens in responding to the fires. It said these efforts once again demonstrated that difficult circumstances strengthen unity among Algerians and reinforce a deeply rooted sense of responsibility toward the nation.
According to the magazine, these values are a natural continuation of the spirit of Algeria’s liberation revolution, which united the population around the common objective of achieving independence from French colonial rule.
The editorial also highlighted National People’s Army Day, established by President Abdelmadjid Tebboune in recognition of the military institution’s role in defending Algeria, its sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The fifth anniversary was commemorated on August 4.
El Djeich noted that the anniversary comes amid complex regional and international challenges. It argued that Algeria’s security and stability are the result of national awareness, strong institutions, military readiness, and continued commitment to the sacrifices of previous generations.
The magazine also highlighted Algeria’s economic and social development efforts, including investment and infrastructure projects, presenting them as part of the country’s strategy to protect its present while building its future.
Referring to President Tebboune’s latest media meeting, the editorial emphasized Algeria’s commitment to sovereignty and independent decision-making. It cited the President’s confidence in the country’s future and his assertion that national stability remains the highest priority.
The editorial concluded that public awareness, national unity, and cohesion between citizens, the army, and state institutions remain fundamental pillars of Algeria’s stability and resilience.
