Algerian Army Dismantles Major Drug Trafficking Network, Seizing Cocaine and Psychotropic Pills

In a significant operation, the security services of Algeria's National Popular Army, operating within the 2nd and 3rd Military Regions, successfully dismantled a criminal network specializing in drug trafficking. This qualitative intervention highlights the continuous vigilance and effectiveness of Algerian security forces in combating organized crime and protecting national well-being.

The operation resulted in the arrest of five individuals, including one woman, implicated in the network's activities. Authorities seized a substantial quantity of illicit substances, specifically over 86 kilograms of hard drugs identified as cocaine. Additionally, more than one million psychotropic pills, totaling 1,049,300, were confiscated.

The seized drugs were meticulously concealed within a semi-trailer truck and a tourist vehicle, indicating a sophisticated attempt by the network to transport these illicit goods. These significant field results in the fight against organized crime underscore the robust joint security coordination and the unwavering dedication of the Ministry of National Defense's security services, committed to ensuring the safety and security of Algerian citizens.
