Algerian Gendarmerie Dismantles International Drug Networks, Seizes 1.8 Million Pills

Algerian security forces have successfully dismantled two international organized criminal networks involved in the illicit trafficking of psychotropic substances. These operations, conducted by the National Gendarmerie's Central Operational Service for Combating Organized Crime, resulted in the seizure of approximately 1.8 million Pregabalin 300 mg psychotropic pills and the apprehension of 14 individuals.

According to a statement from the Ministry of National Defense, the substantial quantity of psychotropic pills was discovered carefully concealed within a road tractor truck equipped with a tanker trailer. Beyond the large drug haul, authorities confiscated an automatic 9mm pistol along with 50 rounds of ammunition, four passenger cars, and a significant sum of national currency.
