Penal Code to Include Death Penalty for Arson by Mid-September

Among the immediate actions, President Tebboune announced a commitment to provide 100 percent compensation for all citizens affected by the wildfires, covering all incurred losses. He further directed the restoration of essential services, including water, electricity, gas, and telecommunications, to the affected regions within a maximum period of one week. In a firm judicial response, the President instructed the Minister of Justice to prepare an amendment to the penal code before September 15.
