Frères Mentouri University Welcomes Over 8,000 New Students

University Frères Mentouri (Constantine 1) has registered 8,471 new baccalaureate holders for the 2026-2027 academic year, which is scheduled to commence on September 22. This enrollment figure was announced by Dr. Abderrezzak Merabet, Vice-Rector for Pedagogy at the institution.
The Faculty of Science and Technology recorded the highest intake, welcoming 2,333 new students. Following this, the Faculty of Letters, Foreign Languages and Translation enrolled 1,525 students. Other faculties and institutes also received significant numbers, including the Faculty of Nature and Life Sciences with 1,135 students, Exact Sciences with 981, and Law with 915. Further enrollments are distributed across the Institute of Nutrition, Food and Agri-food Technologies (499), Applied Sciences and Technologies (430), the Institute of Veterinary Sciences (408), and Earth and Universe Sciences (245).
These substantial enrollment numbers underscore the diversity of educational programs offered by University Frères Mentouri. The figures highlight the institution's significant capacity and crucial role in accommodating new baccalaureate holders within the region's higher education landscape, reinforcing its contribution to Algeria's academic sector.
