Governors Mobilize for Swift Wildfire Recovery and Citizen Support

Minister of Interior, Local Communities, and Urban Development Saïd Sayoud recently chaired a coordination meeting with governors, issuing clear instructions to expedite the comprehensive assessment of damages caused by recent wildfires across several central and eastern wilayas. This initiative follows President Abdelmadjid Tebboune's directives to effectively manage the aftermath of these fires, underscoring the government's commitment to the rapid care and support for affected citizens.
During the meeting, Minister Sayoud emphasized the urgent need to precisely identify the extent of damages and specific requirements for recovery. His directives included the swift initiation of compensation procedures and the restoration of damaged homes and areas, alongside a simplification of administrative processes. Special importance was placed on the humanitarian and social aspects, ensuring that affected families receive continuous support, their concerns are heard, and their needs are met to alleviate distress and foster a sense of security.
Furthermore, Minister Sayoud affirmed the full deployment of all necessary means and capabilities to restore normalcy in the affected regions. This encompasses the rehabilitation of damaged public facilities and infrastructure, as well as the immediate restoration of essential services such as water, electricity, gas, communications, and internet, in addition to repairing roads. Governors were instructed to directly and personally oversee these operations in the field, reinforcing coordination among various local services and accelerating the pace of implementation to ensure concrete, tangible results.
The Minister also commended the significant efforts made by governors and local service departments during these challenging circumstances, praising their continuous mobilization and field coordination. He reiterated the call for sustained engagement to enable affected citizens to return to their normal lives as quickly as possible, in steadfast execution of the President's vision for national solidarity and effective governance.
