Students from the "Quanta" scientific club at Algiers University (1) "Ben Youcef Ben Khedda" have developed a new national application called "Sand," designed to revolutionize the coordination of citizen aid during crises. This innovative platform aims to centralize vital information and streamline the flow of assistance to disaster-affected populations. The launch of "Sand" is a direct response to the need for a more organized approach to national solidarity, particularly evident during challenging conditions in regions like Jijel and other affected wilayas.
The "Sand" platform provides a comprehensive solution for managing disaster relief efforts. Users can access an interactive map displaying affected areas and the locations of registered shelter centers, along with their respective details. Volunteers are empowered to contribute by adding new centers and updating existing information, while relief convoys can register their destinations and the specific aid they carry.
