Five Wilayas Receive 160 New Buses for Urban Transport

Algeria has significantly enhanced its urban and suburban transport infrastructure with the acquisition of 160 new buses. This recent batch is destined for five wilayas: Blida, Tiaret, Sétif, M'sila, and Bordj Bou Arreridj. The initiative aims to strengthen public transport entities and improve the level of services available to citizens, aligning with directives from President Abdelmadjid Tebboune and under the direct supervision of the Minister of Interior, Local Communities, and Transport.

These newly acquired vehicles are Higer brand buses, each designed with a capacity for 100 passengers. Their integration into the national fleet is expected to substantially increase the operational capabilities of public transport institutions. This move is part of a broader national program dedicated to renewing the transport fleet, ensuring that citizens benefit from enhanced travel conditions and improved service quality across the targeted regions.

The current delivery represents the third phase of this national program, underscoring ongoing efforts to modernize the urban and suburban transport network. By introducing new buses that meet contemporary collective transport requirements, Algeria is committed to continually upgrading its public services and fostering better connectivity and mobility for its population.
