Mediterranean Games See Algeria’s Best-Ever Five Gold Medals

Algeria's delegation has achieved its best performance since the start of the Mediterranean Games, accumulating five gold medals. This milestone follows the addition of two new titles, secured by Yasser Triki in the triple jump and Kaylia Nemour on the beam. The national team has shown significant strength in both athletics and gymnastics, contributing substantially to its overall medal count.
Yasser Triki showcased a dominant performance in the triple jump, securing gold with an impressive first attempt measured at 16.61 meters. His subsequent jump of 16.97 meters further solidified his lead, a benchmark unchallenged by his competitors. Triki's commanding display allowed him to manage his efforts through the remainder of the event, with an upcoming Diamond League final in Brussels also on his schedule.
Kaylia Nemour continued to build her legacy, claiming her third gold medal in gymnastics. Despite a fall during her beam routine, which is noted for its demanding nature, Nemour achieved a score of 13.300 points. This score underscores her high level of difficulty and execution, confirming her status as a leading figure for the Algerian delegation, having previously contributed to the initial gold medal tally alongside Cylia Ouikane.
Further enhancing Algeria's success, Zahra Tatar earned a bronze medal in the hammer throw with a distance of 66.88 meters, while Omar Seraiche also secured a bronze in the 3000m steeplechase, completing his race in 8:47.31. These additional podium finishes underscore a remarkable surge in medal acquisitions for the Algerian selection, particularly distinguishing this edition from previous Games where titles were accrued more gradually.
