First National Andalusian Music Days Open in Mascara

Mascara — The inaugural edition of the National Andalusian Music Days kicked off this evening, Wednesday, at the “Bachir Zahar” Regional Theater in Mascara. The event is held under the theme “Nights of Mascara with Andalusian Strings.”

The opening night featured beautiful Andalusian musical performances by the “Maghdiria” Association for Andalusian Music of Mascara and the “Amal” Association from Sougueur (Tiaret), which received enthusiastic applause from the audience passionate about this authentic art form.

The attendees appreciated the organization of such events, which, as expressed by Mohamed, a devoted fan of Andalusian music, “allow for the promotion of the authentic Andalusian music style that reflects the rich artistic heritage of our country.”

Director of Culture and Arts, Abdelghani Rzeiki, highlighted that this event is part of his department’s program to encourage cultural associations to organize events dedicated to various arts, including Andalusian music.

The four-day event’s program includes Andalusian music evenings performed by the participating associations, as well as an honorary ceremony to recognize renowned figures in the Andalusian music scene in Algeria.

This cultural event, organized by the “Maghdiria” Association for Andalusian Music of Mascara in collaboration with the Directorate of Culture and Arts, the “Bachir Zahar” Regional Theater, and the “Abi Ras Al-Nasiri” House of Culture in Mascara, features eight associations specializing in Andalusian music from the provinces of Mascara, Tiaret, Sidi Bel Abbès, Algiers, Tipaza, Tlemcen, Oran, and Mostaganem.
