Algiers – Health Minister Abdelhak Saihi visited the pediatric cardiology and surgery hospital project in Maalma, Algiers, on Thursday. The hospital is set to be completed in the coming days.

During his visit, the minister toured the various departments of the hospital, which is equipped with the latest treatment technologies to ensure accurate diagnosis. He noted that the construction of this health facility, the first of its kind in Algiers, aligns with President Abdelmadjid Tebboune’s commitments to bring healthcare services closer to citizens and to improve and develop the quality of services provided.

In this context, the minister emphasized that the healthcare institutions inaugurated in recent years across the country will “enhance the health sector facilities and ensure optimal patient care.” He recalled that the operationalization of the burns hospital last year allowed for “the management of all registered cases.”

He further mentioned that the number of patients being sent abroad for treatment has “significantly decreased.” With the upcoming opening of the Algerian-Qatari-German hospital, there will be “a complete cessation” of sending patients abroad, contributing to “achieving health independence and security in our country.”

The Pediatric Cardiology and Surgery Hospital in Maalma features intensive care rooms, an emergency center, a blood infusion center, and two surgical operation rooms.
