The Minister of Interior, Local Authorities, and Urban Planning, Brahim Merad, commenced a working visit to the province of Algiers, accompanied by several other ministers.

According to a statement from the ministry, the visit is in line with the directives of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, who places special emphasis on youth, ensuring they receive equitable access to services.

Minister Merad will review the conditions of summer activities and the operational status of several youth and sports facilities. Additionally, six new swimming pools out of a total of 41 newly constructed pools nationwide will be inaugurated.

Furthermore, 40 other swimming pools, which had been closed, will be reopened nationwide. The launch of the construction of 102 new swimming pools at the national level will also take place.

More than 32,000 children from the High Plateaus and the South have benefited from summer camps. Several community playgrounds and recreational areas have been inaugurated across the country.

This initiative is part of preventive measures to enhance youth safety by providing safe and well-equipped spaces to protect against the risks of drowning and swimming in restricted water bodies and beaches.
