The High Commission for Amazighity has announced the opening of nominations for the President’s Prize for Amazigh Literature and Language in its fifth edition.
According to a statement released by the commission on its official website on Monday, submissions will be accepted from July 8 to December 10, 2024, via the digital platform www.arraz.hcamazighté.dz. The prize aims to recognize outstanding works in the following four categories: “Literature expressed in and translated into Amazigh, scientific research in linguistics, scientific research in intangible Amazigh cultural heritage, and research in technology and digitization.”
This call for nominations follows the renewal of the independent jury committee, which consists of national scientific experts in the relevant fields and representatives of various Amazigh linguistic variations. Additionally, the updated presidential decree No. 24-57 dated January 23, 2024, amending and supplementing decree No. 20-228 dated August 19, 2020, allows participation from individuals under the age of twenty.
Those interested in participating in the fifth edition of the President’s Prize for Amazigh Literature and Language are encouraged to review the internal regulations of the prize, which detail the various stages and conditions for nomination. The prize will award the best works in the four categories with significant financial rewards following the deliberations of the independent jury. The winners will be honored during the national and official celebration of the Amazigh New Year, “Amunzu n Yennayer 2975,” on January 12, 2025.
