President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has affirmed that Algeria is set to become one of the world’s leading countries in terms of iron reserves.

In his speech during the second edition of the President’s Award for the Best Exporter, under the theme “Commitment, Achievements, and Prospects,” President Tebboune stated that Algeria’s exploitation of the Gara Djebilet mine will position it among the largest iron reserve holders globally. Additionally, the phosphate and zinc projects will elevate Algeria to the ranks of the top exporters of these materials.

The President also revealed that “continental-scale projects, such as the road connecting Tindouf to Zouerat in Mauritania and the trans-Saharan highway linking Algeria to Lagos in Nigeria, will be completed. Furthermore, free trade zones, permanent exhibitions of Algerian products, and the opening of branches of Algerian banks in Mauritania and Senegal will be launched.”

In his remarks, President Tebboune emphasized that “the economic renaissance experienced by our country requires continuous and intensified efforts to strengthen this national economic trajectory with complementary steps to the achievements we have made.”

He continued: “The results achieved are proof that the economic climate now provides the incentives necessary to achieve efficiency and competitiveness in Algeria, raising the bar of its challenges because it has all the qualifications to occupy its place as a strong and influential state.”
