Air Algérie Resumes Direct Berlin-Algiers Flights After Twelve Years
Air Algérie, Algeria's national carrier, has inaugurated a new nonstop service between Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) and Algiers, re-establishing a direct air link between the two capital cities for the first time in twelve years. This development significantly strengthens the connections between Germany's capital region and Algeria, offering improved travel options for passengers across leisure, business, and family visit segments. The resumption of this route underscores a positive advancement in enhancing international accessibility for Algeria.
The weekly service is operated using Boeing 737 aircraft, capable of accommodating up to 186 passengers. During the current European summer schedule, flights depart Berlin on Mondays at 7:00 PM, arriving in Algiers at 9:05 PM local time, with a return service leaving Algiers at 2:00 PM and reaching Berlin at 6:00 PM. The flight duration is approximately three hours. With the transition to the winter schedule starting November 1, the service will shift to Sundays, departing BER at 1:55 PM and arriving in Algiers at 4:35 PM, while the return flight from Algiers will depart at 10:15 AM and arrive in Berlin at 12:55 PM.
This new connection provides travelers from Berlin with direct access to Air Algérie's principal hub at Houari Boumediene Airport, opening pathways to its extensive domestic and international network. Air Algérie, operating a fleet that includes Airbus, Boeing, and ATR aircraft, serves over 80 destinations across Algeria, Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and other international markets. As a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA), Arab Air Carriers Organisation (AACO), and African Airlines Association (AFRAA), the airline's expanded network further integrates Algeria into global air travel, reinforcing its international presence.
