Poland’s Orlen Adds Algeria to Crude Oil Suppliers

Polish energy company Orlen has acquired additional crude oil shipments from Algeria, alongside other international suppliers. This procurement of 16 supplementary cargos is part of Orlen's strategy to maintain stable operations for its refineries in Poland, Lithuania, and the Czech Republic.

The move by Orlen follows recent disruptions to Saudi Arabian supply, impacting the European energy market. In response, the Polish company diversified its procurement, securing oil from a range of countries including Kazakhstan, Norway, the United Kingdom, and Azerbaijan, in addition to Algeria.

Algeria's participation in these new supply arrangements positions the nation as a significant contributor to the security of European energy provisions. Its role in fulfilling the continent's crude oil requirements, especially during periods of market instability, reinforces its importance in the global energy landscape.
